NYFW focus on: accessories

Here it is as I promised the post about the best accessories seen on New York catwalks to me.

Victoria Beckham astonished me with an orange tote, with short handles and raw cuts: essential, it has got a timeless beauty which deserves the investment. The color is absolutely stunning!

Snakeskin flat sandals that evoke bondage conquered me and are perfectly matchable with the tote, but I have to notice that all the shoes of the collection have got the terrible defect to squeeze feet on the toe.

Finally the shoulder purse, made with technical fabrics, evokes the shape of a 70s accessory but with a brand new relish.

La Beckham mi ha sorpreso con una tote arancio squillante a manici corti con i tagli al vivo: essenziale, di una bellezza senza tempo che merita sicuramente l'investimento. Il colore, poi: favoloso!

I sandali bassi effetto bondage in rettile nero ci stanno benissimo insieme, anche se come tutte le altre calzature della collezione hanno il terribile difetto di essere troppo strette in punta (poveri i nostri piedi!). 

E infine la borsa a spalla in tessuto tecnico e pelle con fibbia, evoca vagamente un accessorio anni '70 ma con questi materiali prende completamente un altro gusto. E brava Victoria!

Homage to the Beauty

This is a post not dedicated to me. It's dedicated to the Beauty. I'm always in search of Beauty: a sunset, a glance, a movement, a color match, a sound, a perfume... I live of Beauty and I search for it inside things I meet every day: it's the limph for our welfare. We live of Beauty.

This is an homage to the fascinating Indian Beauty. They are such amazing photos so they deserved a post just for them.

Questo non è un post su di me, ma è dedicato alla Bellezza. Sono sempre in cerca della Bellezza: in un tramonto, in uno sguardo, in un movimento, nell'accostamento di due colori, in un suono, in un profumo... Io vivo di Bellezza e la ricerco nelle cose che incontro ogni giorno: è la linfa del nostro benessere, noi viviamo di Bellezza.

Questo è un omaggio all'affascinante Bellezza Indiana. Erano foto così belle che meritavano un post solo per loro.

Orange dress

Three of my purchases with sales, all from H&M. Took the long orange dress for 7 euros only, sandals (I'm a huge fan of golden sandals) for even less: 5 euros only... Before of this purchase I promised not to buy cheap things, never again, because they are so unconfy an soon I throw them away... Fortunately these ones are quite confortable for now...

My third purchase is this belt I was searching for months. I found a vintage one but it was too expensive...

Ths color is very summerish and I'm thinking about several ways to up the dress and turn it into a top when necessary...

And what about you: any more purchases on sale?

Tre dei miei acquisti coi saldi in un solo outfit, tutti di H&M: il lungo abito arancione l'ho trovato a soli 7 euro, mentre i sandali (sono una fan dei sandali oro) per ancora meno: solo 5 euro.... E dire che mi ero ripromessa di non fare più acquisti così cheap, visto che poi mi ritrovo con le galle ai piedi e un altro inutile acquisto nella spazzatura... Ma vi dirò: per ora, non mi hanno dato nessun tipo di problema....
Il terzo acquisto è la cintura, che cercavo da un po' proprio con queste caratteristiche e che avevo trovato vintage a un prezzo dieci volte superiore...
Questo colore fa subito estate e sto già pensando a vari modi per tirare su il vestito e trasformarlo in top all'occorrenza...

DIY - packaging for presents

Who knows me, also knows I love presents for the importance I give to the surprise and the packaging more than the content.

I love making gift packages and I do that with materials I find everywhere: I keep (almost) everything might be useful, because everything can be an original decoration for packages: textile flowers, corks, buttons, ropes, branches...

Not surprisingly, when my family have to make packages for Christmas, waits for me and sometimes I was unaware but I made gifts packages for myself!!! Unvbelieveble...

So, this is a simply idea for a package you can easily do by having just a button and some of colored tissue paper. 

I made it for a small present for a child and I fixed the button with a little bit of scotch tape on the back.

Do you like the final result?

Chi mi conosce, sa che amo i regali più per l'importanza che dò alla sorpresa e al packaging che al reale contenuto.

Amo fare i pacchetti regalo e lo faccio utilizzando i materiali più disparati che trovo in giro: conservo qualsiasi cosa possa tornarmi utile allo scopo, e in effetti qualsiasi cosa può diventare una stupenda decorazione per i pacchetti: fiori di stoffa, tappi di sughero, bottoni, rametti, corde...

Balance and empathy

A mix I'm getting crazy for is leopard + bright colors and fortunately fashion this year allows us that: on catwalks we saw a triumph of contrasting colors, daring combinations, eccentricity and flair. It's a real opportunity to express our personalities matching freely our wardrobe's pieces.

Some time ago, I remember, I proposed leopard jacket with red sneakers (CHECK IT HERE). Here I wanted to experiment leopard with orange, combination I had in mind for a while but I didn't have the occasion to show off.

This night I had to go out for an happy hour with a friend and so I calibrated sobriety and semplicity matching basic garments ( a classic jacket, a black tee, straight leg pants) with more eccentric pieces.

I think in fact we should try to calibrate our look not only for places we go or occasions, but for the kind of friends we go out with, without upsetting our personality of course.

I'm thinking for exemple about extremely shy friends who would feel uneasy close to a girl with a leopard sheath dress, exactly as we risk to look slippy close to a super curated and elegant woman if we're wearing flip-flops and jeans...

So, I find it's a form of empathy and it could make the difference in relationships.

Un abbinamento che mi sta facendo letteralmente impazzire quest'anno è il leopardo + colori accesi, e la moda, fortunatamente, quest'anno lo permette: sulle passerelle è tutto un tripudio di colori a contrasto, di accostamenti audaci, di bizzarrie e estrosità che si rivela una vera occasione per esprimere tutta la nostra personalità mixando liberamente i capi del nostro armadio.

Qualche tempo fa, ricordo, vi avevo proposto la giacca leopardata con le sneakers rosse (VEDI QUI). Qui invece ho voluto sperimentare il leopardato con l'arancione, abbinamento che avevo in mente da un bel po' di tempo ma che non ho mai avuto occasione di sfoggiare.

How to wear the lemon print top

When I saw Stella McCartney's catwalk at first I thought it was uncommercial because of its prints of lemons and oranges (you can see the complete catwalk here): I thought it was too extravagant to be worn everyday.
But now summer is arriving and I ever more need bright colours and funny prints!
I'm in love with orange this period and the same is with lemon yellow. So, this is another still-life outfit with this colour!

I already proposed matching bright colours with naturals, I think it's a really cool combination, so here it is another one more! I own a similar beige eco-leather jacket (see it here) and I think it won't be difficult finding one at Zara. However, this one is by Burberry Prorsum.
You can use heels if you don't like wedges like these, which are by Michael Antonio and their cost is $100, but you have to choose a pair of pumps.
Minimal jewelry: use a unique necklace or a bracelet: this outfit is for daytime!

Quando ho visto per la prima volta la sfilata di Stella McCartney ho pensato che era troppo poco commerciale, con quelle stampe di limoni e arance dappertutto (puoi vedere la sfilata qui): ho pensato che fosse troppo stravagante per essere usata da noi comuni mortali.
Ma adesso che l'estate sta arrivando e io ho bisogno sempre più di colori accesi e stampe divertenti, mi sono ricreduta!
In questo periodo vado pazza per l'arancio e così anche per il giallo , perciò eccovi un altro outfit con questo colore!

Ho già proposto di mixare i colori neon e quelli brillanti  con i toni naturali come beige e sabbia, ed è perchè penso che sia un mix veramente cool. Perciò, eccovene un altro! :)
Ho una giacca di ecopelle come questa, presa da Zara l'anno scorso (la puoi vedere qui) e penso che se ne volete una non c'è bisogno di prendere questa di Burberry Prorsum: dovreste trovarla nelle catene low-cost.
Potete usare i tacchi se non vi piacciono le zeppe (queste sono di Michael Antonio Studio e le trovate qui a $100), ma in quel caso scegliete delle semplici decolletée.
Siate parche di altri accessori: puntate su una singola collana o un bracciale: è un outfit per il giorno!

My love is going to leave for Mexico again

I hope you'll forgive me for shorts posts these days and my absence next days: my love Gab is going to leave for Mexico again and I'm enjoin' his presence now, so I can't dedicate much time to my blog. Then, I will have less pics to publish because Gab is my photographer and he will be away for two weeks, so my sweeties, be patient and soon I will return with my cascade of ideas and pics for you!

How to wear orange red

Here it is a proposal to wear one of most amazing colours of the season: orange red!
This is a wonderful colour for tan skins, but you can wear it matching that with brown shades accessories.
The overall look is polite, geometrical, a little bit Fifties... Cuts are simply, shapes minimized. Remember to choose a tote, not a pochette!
What do you think about this combination?

Ecco qui una proposta per indossare uno dei colori più belli di questa stagione: il rosso aranciato!
Questo è un colore meraviglioso per le pelli abbronzate, ma possiamo indossarlo fin da ora abbinandolo ad accessori sulle tonalità naturali della terra.
Nel complesso il look è garbato, geometrico, un po' anni Cinquanta... I tagli sono semplici, pulti, le forme minimal. Ricordatevi di scegliere una maxi borsa, non una pochette!

How to combine the most energic colour of the season: orange!

Spring is back! Let's dress up with orange!!

I really believe in this colour. But how to match it in an harmonic way?

I think using it for accessories is a good way to get closer to colour block look if you aren't used to wear bright colours.

I chose a simply oversize white shirt to wear out or in a pair of denim shorts with cuffed to the bottom.

Then, go ahead with vitamin orange ! Use it in a pair of heels (these are by Brian Atwood, a little bit expensive...), in a maxi envelope purse (you can find this one on asos.com price: about 26 euros), on your nails (you can find brightful cute low-cost colours at Kiko) and for rings...

Complete your look with a straw hat (this one is from RiverIsland, $ 27) and a touch of gold to shine and you'll be perfect!

PS: because of temperatures not yet well, you can replace the shorts with a pair of denim skinny pants!

La primavera è tornata! Vestiamoci di arancio!

Credo profondamente in questo colore. Ma come combinarlo in un modo armonico?

Penso che utilizzarlo negli accessori è un buon modo per avvicinarsi al colour block se non sei abituata a indossare colori accesi.

Ho scelto una camicia bianca oversize da indossare fuori o dentro a un paio di shorts in denim risvoltati al fondo.

Poi, via libera all'arancio vitamina! Usalo in un paio di decolletèe col tacco (queste sono di Brian Atwood, un tantino care...), in una maxi pochette a busta ( questa puoi trovarla sul sito asos.com a circa 26 euro), sulle unghie (puoi trovare bellissimi colori accesi low-cost da Kiko) e per gli anelli...

Completa il tuo look con un cappello di paglia (questo l'ho preso da RiverIsland, $ 27) e un tocco di oro per splendere, e sarai perfetta!

PS: visto che le temperature non sono ancora proprio estive, puoi sostiuire gli shorts con un paio di jeans lunghi..)
