Outfit: spring in Tuscany

Good morning workers! How it was your 1st of May? Here in Tuscany the rain didn't allow us to get a pic-nic.

Fortunately I really love staying at home, so I experimented lots of new recipes I will share with you next days ...are you ready? :)

These pics were taken the 25th of April in the Chianti, the most beautiful countryside in the world, I guess. Tuscany is very amazing and when you eat a tender meat drinking a red wine while you're sitting in front of this wonderful places... you feel in peace with all your senses.

Where to eat? Well, here every place is a good place to eat well. The restaurant I've been hosted by is Osteria alla Piazza and it's a little bit expensive to me but dishes were yummy. I went crazy expecially for deer meat served with a blueberry sauce and a mashed chestnuts.

We took 2 starters, 2 meat dishes, 1 side dish, 2 desserts, 1 litre of water, a bottle of red wine anda coffee and we spent 95euros. Good quality of food definitely, but it wasn't enough for the price requested. This is the reason why I don't feel to suggest you this place. There are many restaurants in Tuscany where quality and prices are  both very good. My tour will continue...

However landscape is really wonderful and after lunch you can quitely take a walk in the nature for an healthy digestion.

My apparel: superflats with a short damask blazer, a white tee and skinny jeans. Simplicity with details: a special twist was the flowered scarf I bought in paris last February.

I love wearing blazers on tees with jeans; that's a look I proposed very often in this blog: I think it's such a confy look, never dull.

Buongiorno belle lavoratrici! Com'è andato il vostro Primo Maggio? Qui in Toscana la pioggia ci ha impedito di fare un pic-nic, ma per fortuna io adoro stare in casa così ne ho approfittato per sperimentare in cucina tante ricette nuove che condividerò con voi nei prossimi giorni.... siete pronte? :)

Queste foto sono state scattate il 25 aprile nel Chianti, la più bella campagna esistente al mondo, credo.

La Toscana è veramente bellissima e quando ti trovi a mangiare carne tenerissima sorseggiando un ottimo vino rosso mentre siedi di fronte a un paesaggio così bello... ti senti in pace con tutti i tuoi sensi.

Dove mangiare? Be', qui è difficile trovare un posto in cui si mangia male, l'unica discriminante può essere il conto, più o meno salato. Il ristorante in cui ho mangiato io è l'Osteria alla Piazza ed è in effetti un pochino caro per le mie tasche, ma immagino che per la qualità di quello che abbiamo mangiato il prezzo sia giusto. Sono rimasta particolarmente colpita dal filetto di cervo servito in salsa di mirtilli e accompagnato da puré di castagne... davvero ottimo, e sicuramente una ricetta da provare a rifare a casa! 

Ecco quello che abbiamo preso: 2 antipasti, 2 secondi di carne, 1 contorno, 2 dessert, un litro d'acqua, una bottiglia di vino rosso, un caffè... totale: 95 euro. Buona la qualità del cibo in definitiva, ma non all'altezza del prezzo richiesto. Questo è l'unico motivo per cui non mi sento di consigliarvi questo posto: in Toscana ci sono molti ristoranti che offrono sia qualità che prezzi molto buoni. Il mio tour del gusto continua... :)
E voi, conoscete trattorie in Toscana dove si mangia bene e si spende un po' meno?

Il paesaggio d'intorno è veramente incantevole e dopo pranzo potete tranquillamente fare due passi a piedi nel verde per una più sana digestione.

Abbigliamento scelto: ballerine ultraflat abbinate a un blazer corto damascato di linea aderente, jeans skinny e una tshirt. Il particolare che accendeva la mise era una sciarpa in garza di cotone acquistata a Parigi lo scorso febbraio, variopinta e fiorata. 

Adoro portare i blazer sulle tshirt coi jeans, l'ho proposto spesso in questo blog: lo trovo un look confortevole e mai banale.

Outfit: how to wear a printed skirt

Good morning, babies!!! The weekend is officially started and the sun is bright and high in the sky: what else?

Well, a pic-nic for exemple... I'm organizing one for tomorrow, do you have any simply and nice recipes to suggest?

As promised, here is the DIY skirt as I wore it: I chose simply platform pumps (wide skirt widens silhouette, so if you're not superskinny and supertall you probably need a trick to make your silhouette more harmonious) and a simply turtleneck sweater which can be replaced by a white tee for summer.

Accessories? All in gold, however essentials: a cuff and a pair of 50s round earrings, a clutch under the arm and... ready!

So have you already found a printed foulard to turn into skirt? How your work is going on? I'm supercurious to know what you're doing with those scissors, please write me!!!

Otherwise, who doesn't feel capable to do it herself will be happy to know that since this morning the skirt - yeah, exactly this skirt, as unique piece - is available for selling in my shop on Etsy for 28 euros (37 USD), shipping worldwide.

Buongiorno bambine!!! Il weekend è arrivato e il sole splende alto nel cielo: che volere di più dalla vita?

Beh, per esempio un pic-nic... è in fase di organizzazione per domani, avete ricette semplici  e carine da suggerirmi?

Ecco qui come promesso la gonna fai-da-te indossata: ho scelto decolletée con plateau (la gonna ampia tende ad "allargare" la figura, quindi è necessario un trucchetto per slanciare) e un maglioncino semplice a collo alto, che d'estate può essere facilmente sostituito da una t-shirt o da una canotta. Accessori? Tutti giocati sull'oro, pochi ed essenziali: un cuff e un paio di orecchini tondi anni '50, una pochette al braccio ed è fatta!

E voi, avete già trovato il vostro foulard da trasformare in gonna? Come procedono i lavori? Sono curiosissima di sapere cosa state combinando con quelle forbici, scrivetemi!!

In alternativa, per tutte coloro che proprio non riescono a crearla con le loro mani, annuncio che da stamattina questa gonna - proprio questa, pezzo unico - è in vendita nel mio shop su Etsy a 28 euro.

Spring summer 2012 colors: aqua

Today I reveal what is another color of the season (unless spring decides not to come): I already presented citron yellow; here is today aqua, which I matched with tan / caramel. This is a color palette very springish we can use for sevarl occasions.

While here in Italy it keeps on raining, I try to publish these pics hoping they will be such a sunny-weather amulet... These pics have been taken in Lucca, where I went last Sunday taking advantage of a pale sun... just a while later washed away by rain... =.='

Fortunately in my maxi purse stolen to my mum I was carrying with me a pair of sneakers, so they saved my feet and my new shoes from rain and sprains while I was running to arrive to the car.

Oggi vi svelo qual è un altro dei colori trendy di questa stagione (sempre che la primavera si decida ad arrivare): vi avevo presentato già il giallo cedro; ecco qui invece l'acqua, che ho scelto di abbinare al cuoio/caramello. Un abbinamento che dona sia a bionde che brune e che possiamo sfruttare in varie occasioni.

Mentre qui in Toscana (come nel resto d'Italia) continua a piovere, pubblico queste foto nella speranza che possano servire come danza del sole... Sono state scattate a Lucca, dove sono volata domenica scorsa approfittando di un vago accenno di bel tempo che mi ha fatto subito sperare nel cambio dell'armadio... e che subito però è stato spazzato via da una fastidiosa pioggerellina in stile londinese...  =.='

Per fortuna nella mia maxi pochettona rubata a mia mamma tenevo un paio di sneakers di riserva, cosa che mi ha evitato: 1 - di slogarmi una caviglia correndo per tornare alla macchina e 2 - di bagnarmi i piedi e rovinare le mie nuove scarpine colorate in suède acquistate da Zara.

Frosty blossom

Simplicity of a black&white look with a pearl necklace was taught to us by M.lle Chanel times ago and that's still valid today, after a century of trends and fashion.
I ventured to reinterpreting it witha mix of jeans, over-the-knee boots and a d.i.y. necklace just a little bit kitsch (as it stands for chic with irony). If you wonder how to do that, get three throws of big pearls and a fake flower, remove the stem and then fix the flower where you prefer with a drop of  hot glue (it's extremely easy, try out!)

La semplicità del bianco e nero con una collana di perle ce l'ha insegnata tanto tempo fa M.lle Chanel ed è ancora sempre attuale, dopo quasi un secolo di mode. Io mi sono permessa di reinterpretarla con jeans e stivali oltre al ginocchio e una collana kitsch (ovvero chic sopra le righe, con molta ironia) creata da me. Se volete provare a rifarla, utilizzate tre fili di perle grosse come me e un fiore finto a cui ho staccato il gambo e che poi ho fissato con una goccia di colla a caldo (è semplicissimo, provateci anche voi!).

Lately I realized how good can be a weighty necklace on a sweater: it creates immediately such a stilish look, it makes the sweater less anonymous, it acts as a ligant matching casual and chic pieces.

I suggest you to try: sweater, jeans, super killer heels with socks, glamourous purse and a huge necklace (better if it shines with big rhinestones).

What do you think about?

Ultimamente mi sono accorta di quanto può fare una collana importante sopra un maglione: crea subito stile, lo rende meno anonimo e sportivo, fa da legante a un mix di pezzi casual e chic.

Consiglio anche a voi di provarlo: maglione, jeans, poi decolletèe con supertacco killer e calzettoni, collana importante (meglio ancora se con grandi pietre o strass) e una borsa scintillante.

Green dress

For a special night, for an event, a fashion show or an opening, here is an idea about what to wear: this is the outfit I chose for the Benedetta Mariotti fashion show.

A soft satin dress, wide and straight, with a pleated neckline which reminds me a greek peplum: just to remark this idea, I added a pair of golden metal cuffs (you can find them at H&M for 7,99€ each). 

The color? Loud (in this case, a bright green), to match with black ultracovering tights and black high heeled sandals.

Per una serata speciale, o per un evento, un'inaugurazione, una sfilata, eccovi un'idea da indossare: è l'outfit che ho scelto per la sfilata di Benedetta Mariotti. 

Un abitino in raso morbido, ampio ma diritto, con lo scollo pieghettato che mi ricorda un po' un peplo greco: proprio a sottolineare quest'idea, ho aggiunto due polsiere in metallo dorato (le trovate adesso da H&M a 7,99 € l'una). Il colore? Sgargiante (in questo caso, verde brillante), da abbinare rigorosamente a collant ultracoprenti e sandali neri.

Pied de poule

When Massimiliano showed me his new fabric bags of the Tablecloths collection (do you remind this brand? I talked about it in THIS POST) I couldn't help but noticed this one with a very trendy houndstooth print (or pied-de-coq, as you like), because that's perfectly in accordance with this year's trends: spotted in the Salvatore Ferragamo total looks (a little bit excessive, to me), recalled by small touches in the Roccobarocco collection, seen on the amazing Issey Miyake topcoats and for consequence also seen in low cost chains as Zara, H&M, Topshop, etc, after having suggested my mom to pull out of her arsenal her best 70s and 80s pieces that I don't see on her since I was a child, I concluded that I had to introduce this bag on this blog! And what I did think? A 70s look, that I hope you'll enjoy.

Quando Massimiliano mi ha mostrato le nuove borse in stoffa della linea Tablecloths (vi ricordate questo marchio? Ve ne avevo parlato in QUESTO POST) non ho potuto fare a meno di notare questa con la stampa pied-de-poule o pied-de-coq o houndstooth che dir si voglia, perchè è perfettamente in linea con le tendenze di quest'anno: avvistato nei total look (eccessivi, a parer mio) della sfilata di Salvatore Ferragamo, in qualche richiamo di quella di Roccobarocco, sugli splendidi minicoat di Issey Miyake e a ruota, come è usuale, nelle catene low-cost come Zara, H&M, Topshop e così via, e dopo aver consigliato anche a mia mamma di tirar fuori dal suo arsenale anni '70 e '80 tutti i pezzi migliori che non le vedo addosso da quando sono bambina, sono giunta alla conclusione che non potevo non presentarvi questa borsa su questo blog! E a cosa ho pensato? Proprio a un look anni '70, che spero vi piacerà.

A few days ago, you asked me some outfits for a cold cold weather. Well, this is the first one and I hope you'll like it: let me know what do you think about!

I got inspiration from the idea of wearing daytime the garments I usually wear for the evening. We can do it easily putting a sweater upon the dress.

Do you remember mine? It's a low cut neckline dress, so it isn't ideal for daywear and work, but with a pair of flat boots, a sweater (this one is from Zara and I chose it because it's similar to Isabel Marant's one) and a trenchcoat it turns into a perfect daywear outfit.

Qualche giorno fa, mi avete chiesto degli outfit per un clima molto molto freddo. Eccovi accontentate: questo è il primo! Spero che vi piaccia: non mancate di farmi sapere che ne pensate!

Ho preso spunto dall'idea di indossare anche di giorno capi che uso normalmente per la sera. Si può fare! Come? Mettendoci sopra un maglione...

Vi ricordate questo mio abitino? Ha una scollatura molto profonda, che non lo rende affatto adatto per il giorno e per andare a lavorare, ma con un paio di stivali senza tacco, un maglione (questo l'ho scelto da Zara perchè mi ricorda quello di isabel Marant) e un trench si trasforma in un perfetto outfit da giorno.

Sunday morning

This weekend has been very helthful regarding affects: I spent two days in Puglia with my parents... only two... but they were a true cure!

The outfit was the one I used for a breakfast on Sunday morning with Claudia, last week... chat&cappuccino! Ahhhh!!!! Such wonderful moments!

I chose an easy look: sneakers, jersey pants (very confy), pull and soft shades.

Questo weekend è stato rigenerante dal punto di vista degli affetti perchè per due giorni sono tornata dai miei giù in Puglia <3... troppo pochi, sono già passati, ma un toccasana!

Il look risale invece alla settimana scorsa, quando domenica mattina sono andata a far colazione con la mia amica Claudia al bar... ciarlata libera e cappuccino! Ahhhhh!!! Che belli, questi momenti!

Look easy quindi: sneakers, pantaloni in morbido jersey, pull e toni neutri.

How to match the sneakers - deal of the week on Easyshop

The deal of the week on Easyshop (to my unquestionable opinion :D ) is certainly the one about Scorpion Bay sneakers, selling for 26 € only, instead of 52 €.

Ok, but how can we match them? I like playing as usual with oppisites: so I tried male/female this time. I suggest a knitted red dress to wear with a bow belt on the waist and refined with a few simply and linear accessories, like the white and black bowling bag (it's ok black as well), a tomboy black hat and a single biker glove.

L'offerta imperdibile della settimana, su Easyshop, è indubbiamente ( a mio insindacabile parere :D ) quella delle sneakers Scorpion Bay a soli 26 euro invece di 52.

Sì, ma come abbinarle? A me piace giocare come sempre con gli opposti, quindi maschile/femminile in questo caso, e vi suggerisco un abitino in maglia, rosso!, fermato in vita da una spiritosa cintura a forma di papillon e completato da pochi accessori semplici e lineari come la bowling bag bianca e nera (ma va bene anche solo nera), il cappello da maschiaccio e un guanto (uno solo!) da motociclista.

White shirt

Oversized white shirts are a garment so stilish and versatile. I also think they're very sexy, as Audrey Hepburn teached in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Two nights ago I matched it with a simply pair of jeans and stillettos. Although Audrey is an elegance icon, I supposed it wasn't good idea wearing the shirt without them :)

Now, watching these pics I would have worn more jewelry: maybe a huge necklace, I think it could have been more charming. But however it was just for an aperitivo and a walk in Pistoia (a very nice town in Tuscany you absolutely have to visit) so I guess my look wasn't too understated.

Despite of the heels, these sandals are very confy and although they aren't new, this is the first time on the blog for them: do you like them? :)

Le camicie bianche oversize sono un indumento veramente stiloso e versatile. Penso anche che siano molto molto sexy, come insegna Audrey Hepburn in Colazione da Tiffany.

Due sere fa l'ho abbinata con un semplice paio di jeans e stiletti. Sebbene Audrey sia un'icona di eleganza, suppongo non fosse un'ottima idea indossare la camicia senza pantaloni :)

Ora, a ben riguardare queste foto avrei potuto indossare un po' di bijoux in più: forse una collana gigante, non so, ma penso che avrebbe potuto essere più accattivante. Ma comunque era solo per un aperitivo e una passeggiata a Pistoia (una cittadina toscana che dovete assolutamente visitare se non ci siete mai stati) perciò penso che il mio look non fosse sottotono.

A dispetto dei tacchi, questi sandali sono molto comodi e sebbene non siano nuovi, è la prima volta per loro su questo blog: che ne pensate? :)

Emergency

I know I look like a soprano ready to her performance on a theathre's stage, but I was just on the stairs of the access to Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence before the concert started. The event has been organized by Emergency, an italian NGO founded in 1994 by the surgeon Gino Strada to bring help and free medical cares where economical interests and profits bring war, pain, destruction and mutilations of civilians.
The meeting has been really emotional. It hasn't been just a concert: some volunteers reported their testimony as doctors to raise awareness opinions on the war theme.
If you agree or not, you can't deny this reflection: a bitter day like 9/11 give us an opportunity to reflect on 3000 victims in New York, but also think about millions of civilians orphaned, widowed, disabled or killed in  following 10 years in Afghanistan... Could it make us thinking about more civilized and cheaper ways to resolve conflicts.
While you're reflecting, take a while of time to view Emergency's work and videos of the concerts on their website, but above all to make a donation now (yes, this month we can give up the little black dress seen in Zara's windows last week... In return I promise I'm going to give you many ideas to reuse what you already own...)

Sì lo so che sembro un soprano pronto alla sua trionfale esibizione sulle scale di una scenografia teatrale, ma in realtà ero solo sulle scale di accesso al Nelson Mandela Forum di Firenze prima dell'inizio del concerto organizzato da Emergency (per chi non lo sapesse, è un'organizzazione non governativa attiva dal 1994, fondata dal chirurgo Gino Strada per portare aiuto e cure mediche gratuite là dove gli interessi dei potenti portano guerra, distruzione, dolore e mutilazioni ai civili).

L'incontro - perchè non solo di concerto si è trattato - è stato davvero emozionante, soprattutto nella parte iniziale, quando i medici volontari dell'associazione hanno riportato la loro testimonianza sul campo, sensibilizzando le opinioni sul tema della guerra.

Che siate d'accordo o no sul tema, non potete negarvi questa riflessione: un giorno amaro come quello dell'11 settembre ci dà lo spunto per riflettere sui 3 mila morti di New York, ma anche per andare oltre, e pensare ai milioni di civili rimasti orfani, vedovi, uccisi o mutilati nei 10 anni successivi in Afghanistan... Che ci faccia pensare ad altri modi più civili e meno dispendiosi per risolvere i conflitti.
Mentre riflettete, vi invito a guardare l'operato di Emergency e i concerti di tutte le serate sul loro sito, e anche a fare una donazione subito (ma sì, questo mese possiamo rinunciare a quell'abitino nero che abbiamo visto in vetrina da Zara la scorsa settimana, e in cambio io vi prometto che vi darò tanti spunti nuovi per riutilizzare quello che già avete...)

Personal stylist: how to match orange pants

During past days I received many SOS emails by you, who asked me tips to dress up for an occasion or suggestions about how to match certain garments. I'm so glad to see how much trust and esteem you place in my personal taste and I hope I've been useful and gave you right tips.    

A few days ago I received another request in which a follower asked me tips about how to match a simple pair of orange slim pants bought at Zara's. 

The girl who wrote me was a little afraid about the brightness of the color: she doesn't want to look excessive. Here are two proposal for day and night:

Nei giorni passati ho ricevuto diverse email con richieste di aiuto da parte vostra, nelle quali mi chiedevate consigli su come vestire per una certa occasione o su come abbinare determinati capi. 

Sono veramente felice di vedere quanta fiducia e stima riponete nei confronti del mio gusto personale e spero di esservi stata utile e di avervi dato i consigli giusti.

Qualche giorno fa, ad ogni modo, ho ricevuto un'altra richiesta con la quale una follower mi chiedeva come abbinare un paio di pantaloni arancioni a sigaretta comprati da Zara.

La ragazza che mi ha scritto era solo un po' timorosa riguardo alla grintosità del colore, ma con queste proposte dovrebbe stare abbastanza tranquilla :)
