In the streets of Paris

Spent a beautiful weekend in Paris, walking in the streets of Saint Germain des Près, watching windows of Pigalle, eating potatoes and duck in the brasseries of the Latin Quarter and shopping in the Marais.

Just for the occasion I bought at Zara a new coat which could keep me pretty warm: I've found it for 40 euros only, on sale!

And what about my new flowered skirt? Do you like it? It makes me feel so springish!

I've got a new job which is taking me so much time and energies (infact I disappeared on Facebook and also here) but I hope I'll edit tomorrow a list of addresses in Paris where I went so you'll can use next time you'll be there.

Ho passato un bellissimo weekend a Parigi passeggiando per le viuzze di saint Germain de Prés, guardando le vetrine di pigalle, mangiando anatra e patate nelle brasserie del Quartiere Latino e facendo shopping nel Marais.

Proprio per l'occasione ho comprato un nuovo cappotto-piumino che potesse tenermi ben calda senza farmi sembrare un omino Michelin (sapete, la mia antipatia per i piumini....): e 'ho trovato da Zara per soli 40 euro, in saldo!

E che ne dite della nuova minigonna a fiori? Mi fa sentire subito in primavera!

Ho da poco iniziato un nuovo lavoro e oltre che da Facebook sono scomparsa anche da questo blog, perchè mi sta portando via tanto tempo, ma spero di riuscire a compilare entro domani una piccola lista di posticini che ho visitato che potrete riutilizzare anche voi la prossima volta che sarete a Parigi!

The weekend is coming and the great frost as well, according to the weather forecast and to the raging wind this morning has been unleashed on Prato: I guess next two days will be all about my bed, listening to my favourite music, watching tons of movies and making cooking experiments in the kitchen.
With me, there will be my new Tweety (do you remember? I talked about it in this post) which will play my favourite music in my tiny flat, while I will walk around with pajamas and a sweater. :)
It arrived two days ago and it is already working hard: it has been connected to my smartphone, iPod and laptop... the sound is extremely clean and high!

Il weekend si avvicina e il grande freddo pure, stando a quello che dicono le previsioni e al ciclone che si è scatenato stamattina su Prato: prevedo una due giorni di full immersion tra le coperte, ad ascoltare musica, guardare film e pasticciare in cucina.

A tenermi compagnia ci sarà il mio nuovo Tweety (ricordate? Ve ne avevo parlato in questo post) che farà risuonare tutta la mia musica preferita nel minuscolo monolocale in cui abito, mentre mi aggirerò per casa in pigiama e maglione. :) 

Mi è arrivato due giorni fa e l'ho già messo a lavorare sodo: collegato allo smartphone, all'iPod e al portatile... il suono è veramente fenomenale!

Frosty blossom

Simplicity of a black&white look with a pearl necklace was taught to us by M.lle Chanel times ago and that's still valid today, after a century of trends and fashion.
I ventured to reinterpreting it witha mix of jeans, over-the-knee boots and a d.i.y. necklace just a little bit kitsch (as it stands for chic with irony). If you wonder how to do that, get three throws of big pearls and a fake flower, remove the stem and then fix the flower where you prefer with a drop of  hot glue (it's extremely easy, try out!)

La semplicità del bianco e nero con una collana di perle ce l'ha insegnata tanto tempo fa M.lle Chanel ed è ancora sempre attuale, dopo quasi un secolo di mode. Io mi sono permessa di reinterpretarla con jeans e stivali oltre al ginocchio e una collana kitsch (ovvero chic sopra le righe, con molta ironia) creata da me. Se volete provare a rifarla, utilizzate tre fili di perle grosse come me e un fiore finto a cui ho staccato il gambo e che poi ho fissato con una goccia di colla a caldo (è semplicissimo, provateci anche voi!).

Carnival muffins

Imagine a Sunday morning at home: you wake up and you fancy some hot sweets and out there it's pretty cold to go to bakery and buy them... That's what happened last Sunday to me.

Here is a simply and fast recipe to prepare sweets even on early morning. Muffins don't require great culinary skills and you can do them all in half an hour: ten minutes to prepare the mixture and 20 minutes in the oven...

Immaginate una domenica mattina a casa: vi svegliate e avete voglia di paste calde per fare colazione, ma fuori fa troppo freddo per farvi venire voglia di uscire a comprarle... E' quello che è successo a me domenica scorsa. Ecco qui una ricetta semplice e veloce per preparare dei dolcetti anche a prima mattina. La ricetta dei muffins non richiede grande abilità culinaria e potete fare tutto in mezz'ora: dieci minuti per preparare l'impasto e 20 minuti in forno...

Let it snow... stay at home

I would have taken these pictures out, and in fact I saw an amazing location too, but I gave up just after walking for 5 minutes: here in Prato a freezing wind has raged and it seems we're in Siberia. I almost risked a frostbite, so I decided I will keep the location for spring outfits and I'll keep on taking pics inside my home until temperatures will be more humanly tolearble. Afterall, I'm a woman grown at the sun of the warm warm South of Italy!! I've not been programmed to bear this frost!

Volevo fare delle foto in esterno, ieri, e avevo trovato anche una location molto molto carina, ma ho rinunciato dopo aver fatto 5 minuti di passi a piedi: su Prato si è scatenato un vento gelido che fa concorrenza alla bora di Trieste e pareva di essere in Siberia. Ho quasi rischiato un assideramento, e così ho deciso che riserverò la location per climi più primaverili e continuerò a scattare foto in casa finchè la temperatura non tornerà a livelli umanamente accettabili. Insomma, io sono una donna del Sud, cresciuta al sole della Puglia, a queste temperature non ci sono abituata!!

Fettuccine con gamberi e fagioli

Quando sono in casa e ho tempo a sufficienza mi piace sperimentare: nuovi abbinamenti di vestiti e colori, cerco musica alternativa, oppure mi invento piatti in cucina, come è successo ieri.
