In the mood for change

September: this is the moment of the year when we desire changes the most. My love for this month is just due to this: it means change, re-birth, re-inventing yourself... I needed this, so I started from hair, just like every woman do. Maybe, the cut is just too short, but after having a bad impact I concluded that I'm in the mood for change, so it's ok, maybe next time you will find me with a platinum head...... :)

Settembre: questo è il momento dell'anno in cui più desideriamo i cambiamenti. La mia preferenza per questo mese è dovuta proprio a questo: settembre è cambiamento, rinascita, reinventare se stessi... Avevo bisogno di questo, così sono partita dai capelli, proprio come tutte le donne. Forse il taglio è un po' troppo corto, ma dopo l'impatto iniziale un po' traumatizzante ho concluso che visto che sono in vena di cambiamenti va bene così, e ci sta che tra qualche post mi vedrete addirittura con una testa color platino... :)

Merry Autumn, the solution to travel

Travelling on Ryanair flights this summer, I stumbled in the engineering dilemma (well known by you too) to pack all the minimum necessary inside of just one hand luggage... Considering that 3 or 4 shoes for 6 days are the minimum and considering every pair of shoes needs its own bag we can easily conclude Ryanair is not right for us or we have to leave at home the major part of our fashion heritage. Topping the list of things to remove from our burden: the bags.
Well, I'm glad to carry a good news: there is the solution.

Viaggiando spesso con Ryanair, quest'estate, mi sono imbattuta nel fatidico dilemma con implicazioni matematico-ingegneristiche (che sarà noto anche a voi) di far stare tutto il minimo indispensabile in un solo bagaglio a mano... Se considerate che per 6 giorni sono necessarie almeno 3 o 4 paia di scarpe e che ad ogni scarpa si accompagna una borsa... è facile arrivare alla conclusione che o Ryanair non è la compagnia aerea che fa per noi oppure che dovremo lasciare a casa buona parte del nostro patrimonio fashion. In cima alla lista di cose da eliminare dal nostro fardello: le borse.
Bene, sono portatrice di una lieta notizia per tutte voi: c'è una soluzione.

Segovia

Last day in Spain before get back home. In Segovia I discovered beautiful buildings, unique facades, a charming tale's castle and an incredibly yummy pork, which seems to be the reasons of the Sunday visits to the city by people from Madrid.
But first we got a stop in El Escorial, where is a huge palace, now a monastery (once was the head quarters of the vast Empire of Spain), second in size only to the Reggia di Caserta.

Ultimo giorno in Spagna prima di tornare a casa. A Segovia ho scoperto palazzi bellissimi, facciate uniche, un affascinante castello che sembra uscito dalla fiaba de La bella addormentata nel bosco e un maialino incredibilmente gustoso che qui pare che sia l'obbiettivo delle visite domenicali degli avventori madrileni. 
Ma prima, abbiamo fatto tappa a El Escorial, in cui c'è un enorme palazzo (un tempo quartier generale del vastissimo Impero di Spagna) secondo per dimensioni solo alla Reggia di Caserta, che oggi ospita un monastero.

El Rastro

The Rastro is a quarter where is the famous street market. Street markets are the thing I want always visit when I travel, because they have got a place's soul: there you can find locals, not tourists. You can buy what they buy and see their faces, how they speak and how they dress up in their daily life.

Il Rastro è un quartiere in cui a Madrid c'è un famoso mercato. I mercati sono una cosa che voglio sempre visitare quando viaggio, perchè racchiudono l'anima di un luogo: lì c'è la gente del posto, non i turisti. Puoi comprare quello che comprano loro e vedere che facce hanno, come parlano davvero e come vestono quando hanno a che fare con la loro quotidianità.
