African women dress up using beautiful fabrics (called wax) printed with bright colors, wrapping them on like they were designers and stylists for themselves, creating every day a new tailor made dress, as Indian women do with their sari. No astricions for the body, no one who designed what they're wearing: just loose fantasy!!! Isn't it so fantastic?
Back from Burkina Faso, my ex boyfriend took me back some of those fabrics and my imagination began to soar in the air and do pirouettes and spins :)

Le donne africane usano delle bellissime stoffe stampate dai colori sgargianti - i Wax - per vestirsi in un modo che mi ha sempre affascinata: avvolgendosi addosso questi tessuti loro diventano stiliste di se stesse inventando ogni giorno il loro abito su misura, come fanno le donne indiane coi loro sari. Nessuna costrizione per il corpo, nessun modello che qualcun altro ha disegnato per noi: solo libero sfogo alla fantasia! Non è fantastico?
Di ritorno dal Burkina Faso, il mio ex mi riportò alcune di queste stoffe con cui la mia fantasia ha incominciato a librare nell'aria e a compiere volteggi e piroette :)
