Evening at Teatro del Sale

Who knows the Teatro del Sale in Florence? If you never been there, you have to go and spend an evening in your life.

You'll spend a wonderful evening with many of life's pleasures, like eating well, drinking good wine, enjoy the italian typical conviviality and watch an high quality theatrical performance, all this at a fixed price of 30 €.

The place is a kind of private club, where you must have a membership card to enter (you can do it at the moment).

They've got a few of funny and original rules to respect there: for exemple is a must socialize and exchange news each other, otherwise the non-renewal of the card. :)

Furniture and atmosphere put you right in Florence in fiftteenth century, and the cook calls diners from a window when plate is ready with a typical accent and urges them to self-service or yells if he sees them use a double ration of schiacciata all'olio (a kind of very tasty bread).

After dinner, the saff systems sittings in front of the stage and you can assist at the show. Yesterday there was a very brilliant monologue by an apulian actor, Ippolito Chiarello.

He had the brilliant idea to presenting the same show in the streets and sell it in pieces, each with a fixed price, from 2 to 15 euros per scene. So, you can request your favourite scene and watch the low-cost show in the street. This also represent a kind of protest against economica cuttings to the culture by the government.

The actor is on tour and you can watch his performances also in Paris and London (more info here).

Chi conosce il Teatro del sale a Firenze? Se non ci siete mai stati, dovete andarci almeno una volta nella vita!

Passerete una magnifica serata con molti dei piaceri della vita, quali mangiare bene, bere del buon vino, godervi la convivialità tipicamente italiana e guardare uno spettacolo teatrale di qualità, tutto al prezzo fisso di 30 €.

Il locale è una specie di club privato, nel quale per entrare devi avere una tessera socio (che puoi fare al momento).

Ci sono alcune regole buffe e originali da rispettare, come ad esempio è d'obbligo socializzare e scambiarsi notizie, pena il non rinnovo della tessera! :)

L'arredamento e l'atmosfera ti catapultano nella Firenze del '400, e il cuoco chiama i commensali da una finestra quando la portata è pronta con un marcato accento fiorentino e li sollecita a servirsi o impreca se li scopre a servirsi due volte della schiacciata con l'olio.

Dopo cena, lo staff sistema le sedute di fronte al palco e a quel punto si può assistere allo spettacolo. Ieri c'era un brillante monologo di un attore pugliese mio conterraneo, Ippolito Chiarello.

Ha avuto la geniale idea di presentare lo stesso spettacolo nelle strade e venderlo a spezzoni, ognuna con un suo prezzo, da 2 a 15 euro per scena. Così, puoi richiedere la tua scena preferita e guardare per strada lo spettacolo low-cost.  Questa è anche una forma di protesta contro i tagli del nostro governo alla cultura.

L'attore è attualmente in tour e potete assistere ai suoi spettacoli anche a Parigi e a londra (per maggiori informazioni, visita il suo sito).
