LFW: the cruise lady of Temperley London

Cruise lady for Alice Temperley, the designer who can be proud to have dressed Sarah Jessica Parker, Demi Moore, Halle Berry and Heidi Klum.

She's a woman on cruise all the summer long, armed with her turban, killer heels, shiny red lipstick, amber skin and a luxury allure. Ok, it's not me, neither you I suppose, but why don't keep on dreaming as we did with princess' clothes when we were child?

On closer ispection, the silhouette is essential so the garment are wearable: the difference is in materials, in gold bold jewelry (I support the idea to wear a big single jewel), in the preciousness of embroidery on light dresses as transparent veils.

The beauty of this collection is unquestionable.

And how couldn't we notice at models' feet the FW 2011-12 Charlotte Olympia's shoes? I fell in love with the black suède ones, with tassels and a little head of leopard on the toe (Bruce, £780.... sigh of resignation...)

E' una cruise lady, quella di Alice Temperley, stilista inglese che con la sua ancora giovane maison ha il vanto di avere già incantato (e vestito) Sarah Jessica Parker, Demi Moore, Halle Berry e Heidi Klum. Una donna in crociera per tutta l'estate, armata di turbante, tacchi vertiginosi, rossetto rosso lucido, pelle ambrata e l'allure del lusso. Ok, questa donna non sono io, e nemmeno la maggiorparte di voi credo, ma chi ci vieta di sognare un po' come facevamo da bambine con gli abiti delle principesse?

A ben guardare, le linee sono molto pulite e semplici, quindi portabilissime: a fare la differenza sono i materiali, i gioielli d'oro molto importanti (apprezzo l'idea di indossarne uno solo, grande e vistoso), le incrostazioni di ricami preziosissimi sugli abiti trasparenti come veli.

La bellezza di questa collezione è indiscutibile. E come non notare ai piedi delle modelle le stupende scarpe di Charlotte Olympia dell'autunno/inverno 2011-12? Io mi sono innamorata di quelle in suède nere, con nappine e testine di leopardo... (modello Bruce, 780 sterline... sospiro di rassegnazione).

LFW: Burberry Prorsum's weaves

Wonderful is the new Burberry Prorsum's collection!
We can see a light 70s inspiration for the use of long pleated skirts and crochet, but they're re-invented in a totally new and modern captivating taste.

Ispirazione vagamente anni '70 per l'utilizzo di lunghi gonnelloni, plissettature e interventi ad uncinetto, ma il gusto è totalmente nuovo, moderno, accattivante. 

NYFW focus on: accessories

Here it is as I promised the post about the best accessories seen on New York catwalks to me.

Victoria Beckham astonished me with an orange tote, with short handles and raw cuts: essential, it has got a timeless beauty which deserves the investment. The color is absolutely stunning!

Snakeskin flat sandals that evoke bondage conquered me and are perfectly matchable with the tote, but I have to notice that all the shoes of the collection have got the terrible defect to squeeze feet on the toe.

Finally the shoulder purse, made with technical fabrics, evokes the shape of a 70s accessory but with a brand new relish.

La Beckham mi ha sorpreso con una tote arancio squillante a manici corti con i tagli al vivo: essenziale, di una bellezza senza tempo che merita sicuramente l'investimento. Il colore, poi: favoloso!

I sandali bassi effetto bondage in rettile nero ci stanno benissimo insieme, anche se come tutte le altre calzature della collezione hanno il terribile difetto di essere troppo strette in punta (poveri i nostri piedi!). 

E infine la borsa a spalla in tessuto tecnico e pelle con fibbia, evoca vagamente un accessorio anni '70 ma con questi materiali prende completamente un altro gusto. E brava Victoria!

NYFW favourite looks: Anna Sui

From New York a is arriving a truckload of accessories that will make us crazy... So I'm thinking about a new post exclusively dedicated to them. What do you think about?

I start just from accessories to present in this post Anna Sui's collection, who is among my favourites with her funny-eclectic-rock style (you love it or you hate it). I do a focus on cat-eye-sunglasses, printed turbans, 40s hairstyle, shiny red lipstick (it's so amazing matching red with violet!), maxi purses in shape of books (probably inspired to Olympia Le Tan's creations), maxi PVC necklaces and funny bracelets in shape of dominoes... all this goes to accessorize outfits which can be localized between 40s and 50s  but the're totally rinovated with brilliant colors.

Da New York sta arrivando una vagonata di accessori che ci faranno perdere la testa... Così sto pensando di creare un post dedicato solo a loro, che ne pensate? 

Proprio dagli accessori voglio infatti partire in questo post per presentarvi la collezione di Anna Sui, che col suo stile funny-eclectic-rock rimane tra le mie favorite  (è uno stile, a mio parere, che o si ama o si odia). E pongo l'accento sugli occhiali da gattina, sui turbanti stampati (forever!), le pettinature anni '40, i rossetti lucidissimi rosso vermiglio (incantevole il rosso col violetto degli abitini!), la maxi pochette a forma di libro (trovata molto simpatica già di Olympia Le Tan), le maxi collane in plastica e gli spiritosi bracciali a forma di tessere del domino... il tutto ad accessoriare outfit a metà tra i '40 e i '50 ma completamente rivisitati nei colori, brillanti e vivacissimi.

From Prada, Céline and Miu Miu, here is the new way to wear bags: embrace not only clutches anymore. Doctor bags, satchels, bowling bags such as teddy bears for little girls grew up.

Considering their price... let's keep them tightly closed!

Sarà per colpa della crisi: le Borse vanno a picco, e noi le nostre borse ce le teniamo strette sotto al braccio. Ben chiuse.

Da Prada, Céline and Miu Miu arriva il nuovo gesto di abbracciare non più solo pochette, ma anche doctor bag, cartelle e bauletti come orsetti per bambine cresciute...

E visto quello che ci costano... teniamocele strette!

Stripes all season long

This year I've got a lust for stripes. I already bought a miniskirt (see it here) and a tshirt (see it here) but already owned two sweaters (take a look here) and a dress (check it here). I can't stop !!! :(
Here they are my new sneakers purchased on TheOutnet.com for a trifle... Do you like them? Tomorrow I will show how I paired them to go to beach...
Prada spring/summer 2011 collection influenced very much this season's trends and fashion. But this designer wasn't the one on catwalks to propose overlapped and multicolored crazy mixed stripes.
