Hair routine

Curly and frizzy hair shampoo by ELVIVE by L'OREAL.
Shampoo specifico per capelli ricci e crespi, ELVIVE by L'OREAL.

A few days ago someone asked me infos about my hair routine... I don't know how many of you can be interested with, but however... here it is! :)
At first, I have to say- and I hope no one will be shocked by this - I wash my hair once a week in winter and twice or more times during spring and summer: frequent washings aren't so good to my hair, which are too dry naturally, so I do it when they're dirty, and in summer (because of sweat) and in spring (because of pollens, which I'm allergic to) it happens more often. I'm lucky because they've got an excellent grip, so when they're washed and dried, no need to do more until the next wash!
Secondly, I comb the hair ONLY when wet, ONLY with a wooden wide-tooth comb and ONLY when mask is on for! Otherwise, the frizz takes over...
Third: hair diffuser is a must, because hair phon without any filters, electrifies it.
I oftend change shampoos, to vary nourishment to hair... I can use either Pantene or L'Oreal or Garnier... provided they're specific for frizzy and curly hair.

After washing, I apply a double acrion mask: anti-frizz and detangling. This is the most important thing that really makes the difference! Otherwise, it would be impossible cumb my hair! I used the same mask for years: it's by Biopoint.
While I'm aplying it with my hands and distributing over al lenght, I disentagle the strands with fingers before combing. Then, I leave the mask on for about a quarter of an hour...

Afetr rinsing I dub my hair thoroughly with a towel without rubbing: the hair must remain as compact as possible and defined, otherwise the "cloud " effect will be inevitable ...
With the hair dryer (with diffuser applied) in a first step drying fast and rough.
Then I apply a modeling hair wax: I used the same for years, valuable advice from my hairdresser. Take a little bit and model it with hands, then quickly apply to the hair clutching into the hands. This operation is fundamental to my experience: I realized that just the wrong amount of wax (too much or too little), the moisture of the hair (too dry or too wet) or the way in which the wax is applied, obtain an unsatisfactory result.
For this reason I never wash my hair when I'm in a hurry.

The final drying must to be done slowly and with a hair dryer not too much hot. I noted that emergency drying with too much hot hair dryer only leads to a terrible result, so it's better leaving hair dry with natural heat of air, than risk having frizzy hair!

I hope my personal experience tips will be useful for you. Have a nice Sunday!

Buona domenica!

  6. I wash my hair only when it's dirty too, otherwise it will become dry and brittle, if I wash it almost everyday. And yes diffuser is a must! Great post! :-)

  7. @El : every kind of hair is different, and I'm sure your hair has got much advantages my hair doesn't have got!

@Chica7bonita: thanks for your comment and your appreciation!
